mind, body and spirit

ZEN CENTER

Healing Arts has been employed and developed as a method for  alleviating illness and strengthening the body. Its main therapeutic properties lie in its regulation of the activity of the cerebral cortex, the central nervous system and the cardiovascular system. Furthermore, the therapeutic effects also help correct abnormal reactions of the organism and have a massaging effect on the organs of the body. Tong-Gong is based on Oriental medicine.  The harmonization of Nae-Gong (internal) and Wae-Gong (external) exercises leads to a balance of mind, body and spirit.

Explore the vast physiological and psychological benefits of meditation that has been practiced for thousands of years and validated by modern scientific research. Learn how to meditate through a structured approach that systematically guides you through the various meditation techniques that develop mental clarity, focus, inner awareness and profound relaxation. Each session consists of sitting meditation, self-administered acupressure massage and a short Tong-Gong Health Exercise routine. We have a meditation technique suitable to meet your needs: Zen, breath-work, mindfulness, relaxation, PMR (Progressive Muscle Relaxation), sound, AT (Autogenic Training) and moving meditation.

C.A.L.M. ™ Stress Reduction is offered to organizations as a 6 week comprehensive stress-reduction program. C.A.L.M.™ is a skillful integration of the best known relaxation methods, including Yoga, stretching, Tong-Gong Health Exercises, controlled breathing meditation and visualization.  As a whole this program is formulated to empower the participants with tools and techniques to relieve stress, fatigue, and anxiety levels.

We lead our daily lives detached from nature, continuously boxed-in by our homes, cars, and for so many of us, our office or corporate buildings separated from the earth by concrete and asphalt.  Touching Earth Programs are meant to rekindle that intimate connection with nature, putting us back in touch with its beauty and wonder through outdoor activities.  A nature walk, a hike, a camping or a rafting trip, or simply some time spent on the beach listening to the soothing sounds of the waves, can give you a great emotional lift and may just be the healing you need. Join us for any of our ventures into nature’s embrace where everything can be a lesson, and each lesson extends far out into our daily living.

Our library is an ever-expanding project. We are making an effort to have available for research and study a broad range of Buddhist texts available to our members as well as the general public. The goal for our library is to represent as many of the Buddhist traditions as possible, in as many languages as possible.  Thanks to our friends at Amitabha Buddhist Society of USA, we will soon feature the complete 108-volume of the Tripitaka in Chinese. We hope for the generous support with which to have available the English version as well.  We hope that our library will be an excellent resource for any individual or organization interested in the study of the Buddha Dharma.

If you or your organization are interested in supporting our library effort by making financial donation or donation of Dharma materials, please feel free to contact us at Info@soshimsa.org.

Soshimsa Fellowship is a lay Buddhist movement with an emphasis on the dynamic practicality of Buddhist philosophy in daily life. SCOUTING RELIGIOUS AWARD COURSES Certified by National Buddhist Committee on Scouting

The purpose of the Buddhist Religious Awards is to give the Buddhist Scouts a practical guidance in achieving the spiritual pledge made in the Scout Oath and Law, thereby developing a Scout whose views and actions in life would stem from the highest of the Buddhist thoughts. These programs aim to do this by leading the scout to: 1) attain understanding and faith in the Buddha, 2) learn the Teachings, and 3) practice the harmonious Buddhist way to life, in the spirit of universal brotherhood of all living things. These are the dynamic aspects of the girl who are of the complete acceptance of the Three Treasures - Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha.
