Beginner’s level instruction, 20 minutes sitting meditation, self-administered acupressure massage.

LOTUS BUDS (CHILDREN’S) MATRIAL ARTS CLASS

The Lotus Buds (children’s) Martial Arts is a traditional Tae Kwon Do curriculum infused with strong ethics, morals and manners code of conduct. Intended to provide all-around education encompassing the body, mind and spirit. We currently take Lotus Buds children (ages 4 - 12).

OPEN MEDITATION

The Open Meditation sessions offer flexibility for personal practice. These are unsupervised session for all levels of practice. Sit (meditate) 20 minutes, sit 40 minutes...sit the whole hour if you wish. Come and go as you please, however be respectful of other’s practice and move in and out as silently as possible. These sessions are great if you want to try to push for the extra few minutes in your sit.

HEALING ARTS CLASS (Registration and tuition required)

Central to the Healing Arts are the Qi Gong/Tong-Gong Health Exercises. Founded by Bodhidharma, a 5th century Indian Buddhist monk, Qi Gong/Tong-Gong has been employed and developed as a method for alleviating illness and strengthening the body. The harmonization of Nae-Gong (internal) and Wae-Gong (external) exercises leads to a balance of mind, body and spirit.

SUNDAY SERVICE

Sunday Service is a traditional Korean-style Buddhist Service, consisting of chanting followed by a brief sermon ( in English ).

The Service is followed by lunch.

The mission of The Soshimsa Woman’s Group (SWG) is to support and empower each other, to promote personal spiritual growth, and to enjoy and prosper together in genuine fellowship, through shared experiences, talents and gifts. We support the mission of Soshimsa Zen Center and the monastic community.
